Woke at 8:15am.   I slept well – finally!

This morning was a day for catching up on all the things we let slide – like checking bank accounts, following up on emails, and making a list of the few things we absolutely must do in the next six days before we leave.   The only thing scheduled for the day is lunch with my DH’s French cousin, and you know what they say about French lunches – they go on for hours!

We meet my DH’s cousin at 1pm at the famous restaurant Bofinger, just off the main square at the Bastille.

Just off the Bastille Square, Bofinger takes up an entire block. It is one of the oldest restaurants in Paris.

I ordered the salmon — perfectly cooked with a nice light sauce and veggies. It was excellent!

My DH ordered the Duck with peaches!

For dessert, I ordered the Floating Island with Almonds — it was soooooo gooooood!

The Ladies Room — everything is Art Deco at the Bofinger!

After lunch, we take a two mile walk to the Gard de l’Est to purchase our TGV tickets to Reims.

On our walk, we found this lovely tree lined street!

We walked through the Place de la République.

Paris has some of the prettiest train stations!

We return to our apartment around 6pm and take a nap.   We are not hungry,   At 9am, we decide to go out for a walk since the weather is so nice!    We walk to the Arc, we go under the Arc, we walk down the Champs Elysees, we walk up the Champs Elysees, and we walk down the hill back to our apartment.

Out for an evening walk in Paris.

We take the tunnel under the road to take a closer look at the Arc.

Time for a selfie!

Next, a walk down the Champs Elysees!

It is an early day tomorrow.  I set the clock on my phone for 6:15am and set it on the dresser – if I am going to hit the snooze button, I will need to get out of bed to do it!
